2012 Review

30th December 2012
The past year has been far and away my best for photography so far. I launched this website, held my first exhibition, had images published both in print and online, placed as a runner-up in two photography competitions and got to spend a lot of time soaking up the beauty of the west coast. My standards have improved, both in terms of equipment I’m using and what I’ve come to expect of myself, and I think (or at least I like to think) it’s showing. All that said there’s still so much more I can and will learn and I hope I never come to a day when I think I know enough because that’s when I’ll stop improving. Most of the satisfaction in photography comes through constantly trying to better your efforts.

I don’t like picking favourites but below are links to some photos I made during the year that I seem to like regardless of how many times I’ve looked at them.

Common Dolphin
Emerging
Sunrise at the Lake
Fiddler's Green
Owenduff Bog
Kittiwake
North Mayo Morning
Corraun Strand
Sea Through the Gap
Into the Sun
Happy Top Out
Autumn Fog
Wet Pavement
Himalayan Sunset

If I can get out with my camera in 2013 as much as I did for these past 12 months I won’t be doing too badly. I’m thankful to live in a country where I don’t have to go far to find inspiration.

Thanks to all those who’ve visited the site, left comments and bought prints. Have a happy new year!
